As Rebellion’s first foray into Unreal Engine 5, Speedball was an ambitious project set to bring back the beloved title from the 90s but with a modern look. After my colleague Hayley Rumbold left the company, responsibility was passed onto me as the most experienced in Unreal on the team to maintain, update and finish all elements of the trailer including creating and lighting several parts of the opening cinematic as well as all final renders from Unreal. I was also responsible for all gameplay capture and editing for the final section.
With this project I have furthered my knowledge in Unreal Engine’s sequencer/camera tools to create high quality cinematics and proper workflows to stay organized and non-destructible while working on a project of this scale.
Following this, I have taken charge of all Speedball related video projects allocated to the team and have documented my process alongside video tutorials to help the rest of the team get up to speed with the project.
Responsible for all elements of this trailer including editing, games capture, motion graphics and cinematics inside Unreal. This project was aimed to attract new fans by showing all the major updates to Speedball since it’s release in early access months prior.
